Each year the Council for Community and Economic Research and the Labor Market Information Training Institute hold a joint conference with a different theme and topic. 2014's conference was headlined with economic transformation and adaptability. Pittsburgh was the prized backdrop for this conference, a prime example of recuperating from the decline from its steel era. The mark crafted for this conference takes on a literal depiction of a keystone and alludes to Pennsylvania's role as a ‘keystone state’. The rendering is designed to be clean while offering Warhol-inspired colors for a splash of modern transformation.
